Solutions to the Opioid Crisis

Cannabis is being explored as an effective tool in the treatment of chemical addiction (opioids, alkaloids, others). US states such as Illinois, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York have pilot programs in place to actively develop protocol as use cases for cannabis to be used in opioid addiction treatment, with more states joining in the effort to address the national opioid crisis.

Social Justice

Cannabis legal jeopardy disproportionately affects people of color. Racial inequality and judicial inequity can be partially addressed through legalization. First steps taken with social equity, reversal of incarcerations, cannabis tax revenue re-direction to disadvantaged communities.

Of the 100+ different cannabinoids that have been isolated, only THC is understood to be intoxicating while other non-THC cannabinoids, including such compounds as CBD, CBN, CBG, and THCV, are being researched to develop potential, non-intoxicating positive health benefits. Applying the regenerative farming standards and practices to cannabis increases biodiversity, enriches soils, drives closed-loop carbon sequestration, improves watersheds, and enhances ecosystem services.
